We are never to young to start thinking about our future! Our Northside students explore careers and the world of work through guidance lessons and career fairs. One of the best ways students learn about careers and the world of work is by experiencing a career fair. WISD fifth graders participate in the district wide 5th grade career fair annually at WHS. Presenters from the real world of work share with them information about a variety of jobs highlighting the sixteen career clusters. Subsequently, Northside 5th graders research selected careers, create presentation boards, collect tools, and dress for success to put on a Mock "Career Fair" for our second through fourth graders to experience. These activities help students understand how people prepare for selecting a career by focusing on interests, preferences and strengths. In the United States of America, students can look forward to many divers career opportunities if they are willing to work hard, take challenging classes, and have the desire!
